An Analysis of Published Literature on the Satir Model

Abstract
This analysis separates the literature on the Satir Model into two types: Direct - by naming the Satir Model explicitly; and Indirect - as an implicit reference to the Model through overlapping theory or techniques. There were 509 Direct pieces found and separated into two categories: Empirical - reported research studies of the Model; and Rational - descriptions and discussions of the Model and its applications. The research methods used in the published studies are itemized as being anecdotal, qualitative, or experimental, and their frequencies are estimated numerically. The Indirect literature is outlined and discussed. The literature appears overwhelmingly supportive of the Model with few exceptions, and these items, however, do not negate nor invalidate the Model. Most importantly, the research literature that has been analyzed does not find any harm-causing fault with the Model.
